A tall industrial stack, charted 'Chy' — often the most visible object on a low coastline.
What it means
A slender stack pictogram, abbreviated 'Chy', marks an industrial chimney. Heights may be charted; conspicuous ones are labeled '(conspic)'.
Why it matters
On flat industrial coasts chimneys out-mark every natural feature — many are lit with red air-obstruction lights at night, but do not confuse those with navigation lights.
