Anchorage point and anchorage area
Areas & limitsCore
A single anchor marks an anchorage; repeated anchors and a broken limit define an area.
What it means
A bare anchor identifies a reported or recommended anchorage point. A broken boundary with repeated anchor marks encloses a designated anchorage area.
Why it matters
A charted anchorage is not a weather guarantee. Check shelter, depth, bottom, swinging room, local allocation, and current restrictions.
